Kishore Acharya (’68 Electrical), Tapan Ghatak (’77 Civil), & Dr. Subir Sen (‘64 Civil)

In Memory of Kishore Acharya: Presented by: Manoj Kumar Saha Roy (’68 Mechanical)
From Samar Mukherjee (’68 Mechanical):
Friends: I was in a bad shape last night. Couple of friends called from India and here, talking to them, and crying with them, made the sorrow a bit more bearable. Thanks. The wave of tribute from all of you, unprecedented outpouring of love and affection for Kishore also helped. Then two songs from Robin which I heard together with Mita were like medicine. Thanks to all of you. I am going to write a series of posts on Kishore, slowly. First a few details about his illness. It all started when he and Susmita visited us to meet up with Pradip and Sikha, had lunch together and then coffee adda. We all enjoyed so much and then he collapsed, and we had to take him to emergency to a hospital near Pradip’s son’s home. They stabilized him in about 5 hours. I drove him to our home. Next day, he seemed to be his usual self and drove back home to Milwaukee. Within 4 days he was back in hospital, this time under the treatment of his own doctors. This was July 28th. SInce then, he was in ventilator, most of the time sedated. Various things happened: pneumonia, water in lungs, heart muscles weakened, etc. There were ups and downs, more downs than ups. Some time we got hopeful news from the doctors, I posted that. But, last 7 days were not so. We were all hoping that he will come out of it like many previous times, and I would be able to post a good news. Alas. The end came quickly.

Lokendra Nath Roychowdhury (’68 Electrical) Remembers:
Goodbye my dear jovial friend Kishore, same school, same college, lab partner, who spent a brilliant career in engineering, while being deeply involved in study of Sanskrit and Sanatan Dharma. My condolences to your family. I am sure, you will spread happiness wherever you are, as you did with us so long. Chitrita was shocked, when I told her. She fondly remembered the happy conversation with you and your wife during the last BECA68 meet at Salt Lake. I unexpectedly woke up at about 5:00 this morning (about 6:35 pm Wisconsin, USA), wondered why and went back to sleep. I was shaken, when I read Samar’s devastating message in WhatsApp

Mantu De (’68 Electrical) Remembers:
He had great interest in so many things: Science, Sanskrit Scriptures, priesthood, golfing, driving cars, hunting, and even cooking. He had a fascinating career. After graduating in electrical engineering from our college, he went to IIT, Kharagpur, to do his Masters degree in Physics. He then went to Case Western at Cleveland, Ohio, to do his PhD in Physics. He then worked for GE in Wisconsin for research work in the electronics field. I feel very lucky to be his friend and classmate.

Debiprasad Panda Remembers:
Rest in peace, Kishore Da! Your legacy will always be felt here in Milwaukee. The day I introduced myself as an ex-BECian, it instantly created a special bond between us—one that lasted forever.

দুজনেই don’t worry be happy টাইপের।
