After Professor Heaton, Professor Richardson was Principal during 1922-1928, then Prof. Macdonald (1928-1936), Prof Wolfenden (1936-1938)
After Prof. NN (1945-1949), Prof. SR Sengupta (not BR Sengupta) became Principal (1949-54), then Prof. Fairburn (1954-1956) and then Prof. AC Roy (1956-1966).
After Prof. D. Banerjee, Prof Bhupal Dutta and Prof. PK Roy were Principals before Prof. AK Seal (1979-1988).
Prof. Bimal Sen was Principal till 1995.
Prof. Ajoy Roy was Principal/ Director till 2018, then Prof. Partha Sarathi Chakrabarty (2018 – 2024), and currently the Principal is Prof. VMSR Murthy (2024 –
